Beautiful Dua e Qunoot with Urdu Translation (Hanafi & Shafi)

Dua e Qunoot (دعائے قنوت) is a special supplication recited in the Witr prayer of Isha Salah. It is a masnoon dua taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, seeking Allah’s help, mercy, guidance, and protection. This dua has two well-known versions: one followed by the Hanafi school of thought and another by the Shafi‘ school of thought.

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّا نَسۡتَعِيۡنُكَ وَنَسۡتَغْفِرُكَ وَنُؤۡمِنُ بِكَ وَنَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيۡكَ وَنُثۡنِىۡ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡخَيۡرَ وَنَشۡكُرُكَ وَلَا نَكۡفُرُكَ وَنَخۡلَعُ وَنَتۡرُكُ مَنۡ يَّفۡجُرُكَ. اَللَّهُمَّ اِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَلَكَ نُصَلِّئ وَنَسۡجُدُ وَاِلَيۡكَ نَسۡعٰى وَنَحۡفِدُ وَنَرۡجُوۡا رَحۡمَتَكَ وَنَخۡشٰى عَذَابَكَ اِنَّ عَذَابَكَ بِالۡكُفَّارِ مُلۡحِقٌٌ

Transliteration

Allah humma inna nasta‘eenuka wa nastaghfiruka wa nu’minu bika wa natawakkalu ‘alaika wa nusni ‘alaikal khair, wa nashkuruka wa laa nakfuruka wa nakhla‘u wa natruku man yafjuruk.
Allah humma iyyaka na‘budu wa laka nusalli wa nasjudu wa ilaika nas‘aa wa nahfid, wa narju rahmataka wa nakhsha ‘azaabaka inna ‘azaabaka bil kuffari mulhiq.

English Translation

“O Allah! We seek Your help, beg forgiveness from You, believe in You, and rely upon You. We praise You in the best manner, are grateful to You, and are not ungrateful to You. We turn away from and forsake those who disobey You.
O Allah! You alone we worship, to You we pray and prostrate. To You we hasten, we strive in Your cause, we hope for Your mercy, and we fear Your punishment. Surely, Your punishment will overtake the disbelievers.”

Arabic Text

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ، إِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ، وَلَا يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ.

Transliteration

Allahumma-hdini feeman hadayta, wa ‘afini feeman ‘afayta, wa tawallani feeman tawallayta, wa barik li fima a‘tayta, wa qini sharra ma qadayta, fa’innaka taqdi wa la yuqda ‘alaika, innahu la yadhillu man walayta, wa la ya‘izzu man ‘adayta, tabarakta Rabbana wa ta‘alayta.

English Translation

“O Allah! Guide me among those whom You have guided, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, be my protector among those You have protected, bless me in what You have given, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. Surely You decree, and none can decree over You. He is not humiliated whom You have befriended, nor is he honored who is Your enemy. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.”
